Pelotonia To Open Registration for 2020 Ride Weekend

Registration for “Be Legendary” 2020 Ride starts February 20 at noon

COLUMBUS, OH – February 18, 2020 – Pelotonia will open registration for 2020 Ride Weekend this Thursday, February 20 at noon, opening the doors for a life-changing experience. Pelotonia Ride Weekend will take place August 7th – 9th, 2020, and anyone interested in participating in a weekend of cycling, entertainment and volunteerism can register at Pelotonia.org/register.

Pelotonia celebrates its twelfth ride with a new “Be Legendary” campaign celebrating the selfless and inspiring acts of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Pelotonia looks to expand its community and ability to drive innovative cancer research by showcasing that anyone can be a legend. The campaign will honor the heroic efforts of Riders, Volunteers, Virtual Riders, Researchers and Survivors alike in the name of inspiring newcomers to get involved and contribute to the movement.

“Our registration kickoff is the start of a 2020 rallying cry for Riders, Volunteers, Virtual Riders and Partners to push to new heights,” said Doug Ulman, Pelotonia President and CEO. “The Pelotonia community is full of everyday legends who believe hard work and collaboration result in great things, like ending cancer. We’re excited to celebrate them throughout the year and help thousands of new Riders, Virtual Riders and Volunteers start their own legend.”

Pelotonia will celebrate registration kickoff with an open-to-the-public party at PINS Mechanical Co. on Friday, February 21st from 4 – 8 p.m. The community is invited to come and enjoy free pizza and duckpin bowling, browse new 2020 merchandise and launch another incredible year of fundraising. Kids are welcome; however, PINS is 21 and over after 8 p.m.

There are plenty of ways to get involved with Pelotonia in 2020 that make Ride Weekend accessible and exciting for everyone, including:

About Pelotonia

Founded in 2008, Pelotonia was established with the objective to fund innovative cancer research. As a centerpiece of its year-round fundraising efforts, Pelotonia hosts a three-day experience that includes a weekend of cycling, entertainment and volunteerism. Since its founding, Pelotonia has raised over $208 million for cancer research. Thanks to its generous funding partners – American Electric Power Foundation, Huntington Bank, L Brands Foundation, Peggy and Richard Santulli, Harold C. Schott Foundation, Cardinal Health, Diamond Hill Capital Management and Nationwide – Pelotonia is able to direct 100 percent of every dollar raised by its participants to cancer research at the OSUCCC-James and the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology.
