In honor of World Cancer Research Day on September 24, Greif has made a donation to launch a special
fundraising incentive for all 2024 Pelotonia participants — Riders, Volunteers, and Challengers alike. This contribution aims to accelerate innovative cancer research and amplify the
impact of the Pelotonia community’s collective fundraising efforts.
With “Get Two, Get More!” courtesy of Greif, every Pelotonia participant who receives two unique donations of any amount to their fundraising profiles between September 24 and September 27 will be entered to win a bonus donation of $50, $100, $250, or $500.
Greif, a global leader in industrial packaging products and services, operates in over 35 countries with a team of more than 14,000 associates. As a company that values people and culture, participating in Pelotonia was the perfect opportunity to bring Greif’s employees — from Central Ohio to around the world — together in a fun, impactful program that enhances employee engagement while also supporting the Pelotonia mission.
In 2024,
Greif joined Pelotonia as a first-year peloton team within the
Simply Community Super Peloton, a team that welcomes everyone interested in participating, and refers to itself as a giant family. Simply Community has raised over $5.3 million for Pelotonia since their founding in 2009, and has surpassed $800,000 for 2024 so far.
Greif’s involvement in this year’s ride has set new standards for collective effort and global unity in the fight against cancer, driven by a strong sense of community and investment in research. The Greif peloton team’s involvement in Ride Weekend 2024 is already poised to be one of the largest first-year pelotons to date.
Over 380 participants from Greif have joined Pelotonia this year for Ride Weekend and beyond, taking on challenging distances, showcasing their physical endurance, and rallying around their commitment to
Ending Cancer.
With 62 Riders, 325 Challengers, and 2 Volunteers, Greif’s global team came together from across the world — representing 9 countries and 9 US states.
Pelotonia’s 2024 participants to date span 16 countries and 47 states, reinforcing that the global community dedicated to Ending Cancer knows no borders.
Thanks to the unwavering dedication of their team,
Greif has already raised an impressive $225,000 to date in 2024 for their first year as a peloton. Greif peloton and company leadership have excelled in creating an environment that allows associates to rally around Pelotonia activities, from hosting office fundraisers and supporting Riders with cycling needs to broadening the reach of Pelotonia participation to their global markets.
