At Pelotonia, we recognize that your privacy is important. This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices for Pelotonia’s family of websites, including but not limited to pelotonia.org and shoppelotonia.org (collectively, the “Site”), as well as related products and services we may offer or provide to you (collectively, “Services”). This Privacy Policy also covers how personal and other information that we collect or receive about you is treated.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. You also acknowledge that this Privacy Policy is designed to be read in connection with the Site’s Terms of Use, which is available at www.pelotonia.org/terms-of-use, and that you agree to be bound by those Terms of Use.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
We collect or receive information about users of the Site. When you engage in certain activities on the Site, such as registering as a participant in Pelotonia or for another event, creating an account/profile on the Site, making a donation, submitting or posting content on the Site, downloading content from the Site or purchasing a product or service, we may ask you to provide information about yourself that lets us know the specifics of who you are (“Personal Data”). Examples of Personal Data may include your first and last name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, employer, credit card information and other identifying information about yourself.
You may use the Site without disclosing Personal Data. We do not collect Personal Data about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain Personal Data to us when you choose to use certain Services available on the Site.
In addition to Personal Data that you provide to us, we collect or receive other information about a user’s visits to the Site that does not by itself identify a specific individual. Examples of such information may include internet service provider and Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, internet browser type, pages accessed on the Site, the amount of time spent on the Site and information about what website a user just came from and what website a user goes to after visiting the Site.
Google Analytics collects aggregated information about visitors to the Site. This is not linked to any Personal Data that can identify any individual.

We use “cookies” on the Site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a Site user’s device to help us improve your access to the Site and identify repeat visitors. By using the Site, you give your consent that the Personal Data you provide may be used by Pelotonia in the manner and for the purposes described herein. We will primarily use your Personal Data to provide our Services and communicate with you about our Services, your participation in Pelotonia events and offers and events that may be of interest to you. We also will use certain forms of Personal Data and other information about your visits to improve our internal marketing and promotional efforts, conduct internal research on the demographics of users of the Site, optimize the experience of users of the Site and improve our Services.
We will not sell, trade or license your Personal Data to anyone. We will not share your Personal Data with any third party outside of Pelotonia except to the extent we may need to share certain Personal Data with service providers we engage to perform business functions on our behalf (such as service providers who are necessary to complete a donation or transaction you make with us or vendors who assist us with the administration and operation of the Site) or selected third parties if you choose to sign up for a special offer or enter a sweepstakes or contest sponsored by such third parties, and we share certain Personal Data to The Ohio State University and/or The Ohio State University Foundation regarding donations you make to Pelotonia for their own fundraising recordkeeping and activities.
You should be aware that if you voluntarily disclose Personal Data in your public profile on the Site or on other public areas on the Site, that information may be viewed by other users of the Site and can be collected and used by third parties for their own purposes. Such activities are beyond our control, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to such information.
Our Site may contain links to other websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites or any other websites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave the Site and to read the privacy policies of those other websites.
SECURITY
We strive to take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to your Personal Data. Whenever we collect sensitive information such as credit card data that information is encrypted and is protected with SSL encryption software.
The computers/servers in which we store Personal Data are kept in a secure environment. Cloud-based data storage is maintained on servers of reputable cloud hosting providers, such as Google Drive or DonorPerfect, in password protected files.
Unfortunately, no transmission of data over the internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You acknowledge that there are security and privacy limitations inherent in the internet that are beyond are control and the security and privacy of the information exchanged between you and us through the Site cannot be guaranteed.
MINORS
The Site and the content available on it are neither intended for, nor directed to, children under the age of 13. You must be at least 13 years old to have our permission to use the Site. Additionally, no permitted user of the Site under the age of 18 shall provide Personal Data to us without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
DATA STORAGE AND RETENTION
We store your Personal Data on our servers and the servers of third party service providers, all located in the United States. We retain your Personal Data for as long as you have an account/profile with us or while you are using or receiving the Services and for a period thereafter to improve our Services and for archiving purposes.
TRANSFERRING PERSONAL DATA FROM THE EU/EEA TO THE UNITED STATES
Our operations are located in the United States. Information you provide to us or we collect from you will be processed in the United States.
